How to Wear Your Huggable Co. Baby Carrier
Step 1: Put on the waistbelt
Wrap the padded waistbelt around your hips (not your waist) and clip it in place. It should sit snug, just above your hip bones, for proper weight support.
Step 2: Choose your carry position
Decide how you'll carry your baby:
- Front Carry – Facing Out: Baby faces outward for a wide view of the world.
- Front Carry – Facing In: Baby faces inward for close bonding and comfort.
- Hip Carry – Facing In: Baby rests on your hip for more freedom of movement.
- Back Carry – Facing In: Baby rests on your back for hands-free, all-day wear.
Step 3: Adjust the seat panel width
Slide the buckles at the base of the seat inward or outward depending on your chosen position:
- Facing Out → slide buckles inward to narrow the panel.
- Facing In, Hip, or Back Carry → slide buckles outward to widen the panel for proper knee-to-knee support.
Step 4: Place baby in the carrier
Lift baby into the seat, ensuring their knees sit higher than their hips (the "M-position") and their bottom is fully supported by the seat panel.
Step 5: Bring up the shoulder straps
Pull both straps up and over your shoulders. For front and hip carries, cross or straighten the straps at your back depending on your comfort — the carrier supports both cross-back and parallel strap styles.
Step 6: Clip and tighten
Secure the chest clip across your chest at a comfortable height, then tighten all straps (shoulder, waist, and chest) until baby is held snug and close, with no sagging.
Step 7: Check the fit
Baby should be seated deep in the carrier, knees higher than hips, spine slightly curved, and close enough to kiss the top of their head. Adjust as needed for comfort.
